Is there a cost for using this budget tool?
Answer: The use of this tool is free to all UF/IFAS faculty members.
But I heard UF charges agents a “financial fee”?
Answer: Handling funds related to the organization of an Extension event involves (a) the payment of credit card fees to the credit card company (the agent is the “merchant”), (b) UF fund 182 Management fee, and (3) registration service handling fee. Together, these fees represent an estimated 11.11% of the transacted amounts.
Do I have to start from scratch every time?
Answer: The system allows to modify your own already existing budgets and adopt other agents’ existing budgets.
What happens to the actual money?
Answer: This tool is a budgeting tool only and only handles amounts of money. It is the agent’s responsibility to collect, handle and deposit cash, checks or credit card transfers according to UF proper money handling regulations and best practices.
